Paradigm Forensic Services (PFS Labs) is called upon to provide expertise in criminal and civil matters in the areas of firearm evidence, gunshot residue, distance determinations, wound ballistics, firearm failure analysis, and shooting reconstructions.

Paradigm Forensic Services is owned and operated by Lance Martini, who has over 35 years of experience in private and government forensic laboratories. He is certified by the Association of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners (the certifying body in the United States for firearm examiners) in the areas of firearm evidence examination and identification, and, gunshot residue and distance determination. Lance Martini has also been certified by the State of California, National Rifle Association, and firearm manufacturers in areas covering firearm safety, law enforcement firearm’s training, and the identification, evaluation, and repair of firearms.

Paradigm Forensic Services is an independent forensic laboratory which specializes in firearms related matters with over 35 years of private and public sector forensic experience. Our services are retained in both criminal and civil matters. For civil matters, our retention is approximately equal between plaintiff/defendant. We have extensive experience with shooting incident reconstructions and Officer Involved Shootings.

Lance Martini, who owns and operates Paradigm Forensic Services has been recognized by the FBI and San Diego Sheriff’s Department for outstanding forensic contributions to an investigation, and by the Association of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners as a distinguished member. Mr. Martini is also one of only a small group of individuals who has earned certification by the Association of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners..

With 37 years of Criminal, Civil, Trial, and Deposition testimony in Federal and State proceedings, Mr. Martini has the experience and professionalism required of an Expert Witness.
With offices in Southern California and Southwestern Colorado, we offer a range of forensic firearm consulting and laboratory services both locally and nationally. Case Review and Consultation, Expert Witness Services, Evidence Examination, Field Inspections, Wound Ballistics, Firearm Accident, and Shooting Incident Reconstruction are some of
our services.

Paradigm Forensic Services (PFS Labs) is retained by both prosecution/defense
and plaintiff/defendant. For civil matters, retention is approximately equal between plaintiff/defendant and we have extensive experience with Officer Involved Shootings.
